Depending on how you count them, there are 31 outdoor swimming pools in Vorarlberg where you can cool off and have lots of fun in the summer. The selection is large, and there are various options:
Over 100 Years Old
In Felsenau, Frastanz, you’ll find the oldest still operating swimming pool in Vorarlberg. Opened over 100 years ago in 1903, it still offers a family-friendly atmosphere today.
Room for Everyone
According to their own statements, the Rheinauen Recreation Center in Hohenems, with an area of 120,000 m², is the largest outdoor pool in all of western Austria. Here, you’ll find a 50m sports pool, diving towers, various slides, 4 beach volleyball courts, playgrounds, and even a 400m long side arm of the Old Rhine for swimming.
Located in the Forest
The highest situated swimming pool in the state can be found at 1,500 meters in the forest between Lech and Zug am Arlberg. The Waldschwimmbad Lech offers a sports pool, a 3m diving tower, and a children’s pool for cooling off.
High Adrenaline
Mountain Beach in Gaschurn offers plenty of action. You can zoom down the rafting track on an inflatable tire, get catapulted into the air with blobbing, or bounce on the large air bubble cushions until you’re out of breath. There are also a zip line, ferry boat, slide, and climbing pyramid available. Mountain Beach is a natural pool with spring water from the mountains and no added chlorine.
