150 years ago, harmful synthetic materials and adhesives didn’t exist. Inspired by this principle, architect Wolfgang Schwarzmann has returned to traditional construction methods, merging them with the precision of modern technology. For his mobile sauna house, Schwarzmann collaborated with the Berchtold carpentry workshop to create a structure that is as sustainable as it is innovative.
Using a CNC robot, locally sourced spruce wood was milled with millimeter precision and assembled using traditional log construction techniques. This approach eliminates the need for materials like foil, glue, tape, or silicone, resulting in an eco-friendly and durable design.
Currently, the mobile sauna is located at Polsterei Mohr in Andelsbuch, where it is regularly heated and enjoyed.
