We're looking for a Senior AI Engineer to help us build multimodal AI systems for document analysis. The ideal candidate for this role has a combination of strong engineering skills, extensive experience working on machine learning projects, and thrives in fast-paced, high-ownership environment. Our platform integrates various machine learning models—from large language models to multimodal systems—to extract insights from unstructured and semi-structured documents. If you're passionate about the latest research in AI, especially Document Analysis, this role offers new and interesting challenges at the intersection of research and engineering.

A peek at our technical stack

Our model development is based on Python with foundational ML frameworks like PyTorch and HuggingFace Transformers. We strive to use smaller models, ideally running on CPUs, wherever possible. For experimentation and reproducibility, we utilize MLflow. We are small enough that you can shape our codebase in a substantial manner. What sets us apart is our dedicated hardware infrastructure, including state-of-the-art NVIDIA H100 GPUs housed in our private datacenter in Feldkirch.

What you’ll do

• Develop innovative solutions in the area of Multimodal and Text-based Document Analytics, Natural Language Understanding and Information Extraction.
• Fine-tune specialised models for specific use-cases or customers
• Collaborate closely with the rest of the product organization to bring cutting-edge machine learning models to production.

This role is based in Götzis, Vorarlberg. Requirements

What you’ll need

• 5+ years of relevant engineering or research experience in machine learning
• Solid knowledge of at least one machine learning framework (e.g. PyTorch, Tensorflow)
• Strong programming skills and ability to write clean and maintainable code
• Ability to rapidly prototype solutions and iterate on them with tight product deadlines
• Strong communication, collaboration, and documentation skills
• Humility and open mindedness
