The Platform for Digital Initiatives (DI) was founded in 2015 for organizational reasons to handle the first Umma Hüsla Hackathon 2015. The founders, Johannes Moser, Christoph Klocker and Guntram Bechtold, met at a Developer's networking meeting in the Lake of Constance area. The Hackathon became the first joint project.
Since then, the association's goal has been promoting and advancing the digital culture of the region. The focus is knowledge transfer, free space for creativity and digital projects as well as connecting to the existing community in the region. This is achieved through easy and uncomplicated access for everyone to all actions, events and measures taking place within the association.
This includes the annual Umma Hüsla Hackathon, smaller formats, which are also aimed at fringe groups of the digital core target group (women, children, senior citizens, people from outside the industry). Digital developments, innovations, handling of technologies and knowledge are conveyed via further training, seminars, lectures, events and via access to the mothership, a modern technology workshop (MakerLab). The latter in particular should benefit from the use of DI. After all, competitiveness on the international economic market is just as much a long-term goal as creating a sustainable conversion from analog to digital technologies, work processes and value systems in Vorarlberg.
